Modernism was a cultural movement in the late 19th century and the early 20th century. the idea was to break away from the traditional way of doing things and find a cooler way to do it.

In the gattaca we see many examples of modernism architecture and these examples reflect the idea of eugenics in the society of the film. The idea of modernism in the film is to create a whole new society that is completely different to traditional ideas. The architecture used is modern and untraditional and so is the idea of eugenics. so if you compare Modernism architecture with the idea of eugenics in gattaca they have the same principles, with eugenics the idea is to create a new human society that is completely different to the traditional idea.
